Food Fort's mobile/renovated bus serves as our "dinner table" right in the neighborhoods of the youth we serve. Originally a Kansas City Chiefs party bus, this 1991 bus has been renovated to provide a space for youth to eat dinner and also have consistent adults present in their lives.
Food Fort's "TreeTop" trailer is our program focused on Education. Youth are invited to come complete homework during the school year, receive mentorship from our staff and volunteers, and participate in supplemental educational activities year-round. TreeTop has been renovated to provide a safe and conducive space for children to receive our educational services.
Food Fort's "Giving Garden" is a seasonal fresh produce service offered to youth and families during the summer months. Our physical garden as well as our partners at First Free Evangelical & Nebraska Extensions provide fresh, healthy produce that is then loaded in to our refrigerated "Giving Garden" trailer, which is brought to each site weekly during the summer months.
Food Fort's "Feeding Our Future" scholarships are available for up to four youth per year. These scholarships help us to continue to support our youth as they continue their education into adulthood. Scholarships are awarded in May of each year.
