Founded in 2016 by our Executive Director, Michaela Akridge, Food Fort began by simply seeking to meet the deeper needs of underserved youth in Lincoln. Over time, our meal services grew into the "avenue" we use to establish relationships with those we serve. These relationships allow us to identify the deeper needs of the communities we are a part of. Since Food Fort's inception, we have grown to have four main programs to address the needs of the under-resourced communities we serve.
