Michaela Akridge is both the founder and current Executive Director of Lincoln Food Fort. She obtained her degree in Human Relations from Doane University. Spent time working in both youth programming at People City Mission and also Special Education services through LPS, where she developed a deep passion for at-risk youth. She is a wife

Michaela Akridge is both the founder and current Executive Director of Lincoln Food Fort. She obtained her degree in Human Relations from Doane University. Spent time working in both youth programming at People City Mission and also Special Education services through LPS, where she developed a deep passion for at-risk youth. She is a wife, and mother of six amazing children. It is her belief that many youth within our community just need a consistent trusted adult in their life who is willing to invest in a relationship with them. Healthy relationships can change the trajectory of their life.

Valorie holds a degree in English and Speech/Theatre and spent years teaching Language Arts for grades 5-8. She also spent two years as a principal in Battle Creek Nebraska. As a long-time supporter of Food Fort, stepping into the role of Director of Education was a no-brainer. Combining her passion for helping children reach their potent

Valorie holds a degree in English and Speech/Theatre and spent years teaching Language Arts for grades 5-8. She also spent two years as a principal in Battle Creek Nebraska. As a long-time supporter of Food Fort, stepping into the role of Director of Education was a no-brainer. Combining her passion for helping children reach their potential and classroom teaching experience this position provides the perfect combination to utilize her gifts.

Originally interning with Food Fort in the Fall/Winter of 2022, Mason is now our Fundraising Director. With extensive background working with youth of many ages, he has the experience to share our mission with patrons who are passionate about helping underserved youth and families.
